My final sculpture in Sculpture 1 was a choice of any medium and subject. Having been to Italy recently, I have a huge love of female figure sculpture. My goal was to create a figure using ceramic air dry clay.
I chose to sculpt a female in a dreamlike pose adorned with a floral headpiece and gilded gold leaf bottom. Using thin stripped of clay, I placed them along the figure to act as clothing folds, while seeing her anatomy illustrates the idea of a thin transparent material.
